My Dear Friends,

A Kind Gesture…..What does that mean?

…….. It will mean different things to each and every one of us….

A smile is a good place to start, it costs you nothing but it can bring joy to the receiver 🙂

A Hug goes a long way and almost certainly brings a feeling of love, caring and support to the receiver 🙂

A helping hand…maybe something simple as carrying the heavy shopping bags for a person at the grocery store, cleaning the windows or cutting the lawn for an elderly neighbour….

Giving a bag of essentials to a homeless person, not always money….but a toothbrush, toothpaste, some gloves, some soap, a small towel, sanitary towels, some socks an old jumper, a warm hat…anything is good 🙂

Just being there for someone…..no talking…just listening 🙂

I hope you can hold out you hands to someone this weekend 🙂

My Dear Friends,

A very powerful message…..

Most of us go by each day without a single thought for the welfare of others, our busy, hectic lives full of drive , the need to succed, earn more, buy more and live in happiness… ‘Self’

If we see someone on the street we don’t ‘stop’ and think, “why is that person on the street”, “I wonder what brought them here”, we certainly never go up to them and ask…Oh, No!…

But as this image says “If I get wet, I can change my clothes…I’m collecting for someone who can’t!

The next time you see someone on the streets, stop and think a while, don’t judge, observe and give 🙂

Or if you have the time, then do as this man has done and actually do more to help!

Have a great weekend my friends, live, love and be happy 🙂

Music, it has the power to heal our world and bring about Peace

Published 08/07/2015 by inspiringyourspirit

Music my dear friends can take you to another place, it can bring tears to your eyes, it can bring you relief, it can bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Music can help us heal our world, the sweet sounds from music from all every country of our world unites people, it brings us together in celebration and has been with us since the dawn of time, we should use music to bring countries and religions together and create a platform for us to communicate with one goal…peace and happiness.

The first video shows Donald, a homeless man in Florida USA, as you will see, he may be down on his luck but he has soul, he has love in his heart, he has the memory of music running through his veins. Bless him and bless his life 🙂

A homeless man in Florida play the piano beautifully, his name is Donald.
Check out Donalds facebook page where you can read the latest news on him, where he is and how hes doing!https://www.facebook.com/donaldbooneg…

The second video is an impromptu performance on a piano at St Pancras railway station in London by a rail passenger Henri Herbert. The sweet music he plays filled my heart with joy and made my day 🙂

Henri Herbert, keyboard player with the Jim Jones Revue (a high octane rock and roll band from London), gives an impromptu performance on the concourse of St Pancras International station, London
He cites Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson as having influenced his style.

The piano he is playing in this clip is one of several that were placed around railway station concourses in London last summer, for any member of the public to play. Henri decided he would give an impromptu performance to help promote an upcoming boogie woogie festival.

Freezing Homeless Child (Social Experiment)

Published 25/02/2015 by inspiringyourspirit

My Dear Friends,

Please take a few moments to watch this short video and think about what you see, it literally broke my heart to see literally hundreds if not thousands of people in New York walking past this young boy in the freezing cold of day with no one stopping to see how he was, let alone offering him any help. Until the one homeless man walked up and offered not only help in the form of his own coat, but also the little money he had whilsy he also offered his advice and comforting support for what he saw in this young boy!

I love the words of this homeless man…“Im homeless too and We got to look out for one another”

Remember my dear friends “If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody, you’ll end up doing nothing for nobody”!

Let’s together make changes to our world, let’s bring humanity back together where we actually care for one another, where we don’t chase money and things, where we don’t turn our backs on the needy, where we start loving one another and we listen to each other with the intent to understand…

We can make a difference, we can make change happen…but we have to stand up and say…… “I will”

What does your reflection say about you?

Published 10/01/2014 by inspiringyourspirit

reflection

Me or We?

Self or Selfless?

I or Us?

Do you consider others or just yourself?

Money for me or money for us!

For the benefit of me or for the benefit of us!

I’m ok..So who cares about them!

My country is safe…they are not my problem!

I have food on my table so…….

My house is warm and dry so……

My water is clean and safe to drink so……

My children are safe so……

My children are at school and being educated so…..

I can sleep at night safely so…..

Many people all around OUR world are not safe tonight, they won’t have shelter to protect them from the storm and keep them warm and dry, they wont have food on their table and clean safe water to drink, tomorrow their children wont have a school to go to, no education available and they will be in FEAR for their lives…Can they get through another long cold night and if so, can they make it safely through another day of torture and torment!

Be mindful of what you have in your life, give thanks for all you have and remember ‘life is good for some, but not for all’!

Hunger.

Hunger kills more people every year
Than Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis combined.

Every year, authors, journalists, teachers, researchers, schoolchildren and students ask for statistics about hunger and malnutrition. To help answer these questions, here is a list of useful facts and figures on world hunger.

870 million people in the world do not have enough to eat. This number has fallen by 130 million since 1990, but progress slowed after 2008.

The vast majority of hungry people (98 percent) live in developing countries, where almost 15% of the population is undernourished.

Asia and the Pacific have the largest share of the world’s hungry people (some 563 million) but the trend is downward.

If women farmers had the same access to resources as men, the number of hungry in the world could be reduced by up to 150 million.

Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five – 3.1 million children each year.

One out of six children — roughly 100 million — in developing countries is underweight.

One in four of the world’s children are stunted. In developing countries the proportion can rise to one in three.

80 percent of the world’s stunted children live in just 20 countries.

66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone.

WFP calculates that US$3.2 billion is needed per year to reach all 66 million hungry school-age children.

Homeless.

“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.” – Universal Declaration of Human Rights, article 25, par. 1
Homelessness- What it is?
Homelessness is the condition and social category of people who lack housing, because they cannot afford, or are otherwise unable to maintain, a regular, safe, and adequate shelter.
Who are Homeless?
A homeless person is defined into three categories.
In general it is said about an individual who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence; and an individual who has a primary nighttime residence that is
1. A publicly supervised or privately operated shelter designed to provide temporary living accommodations (including welfare hotels, congregate shelters, and transitional housing for the mentally ill);
2. An institution that provides a temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized; or
3. A public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings.
Homelessness- The Fact
Housing is a basic human need, yet the statistics of United Nations Commission on Human Rights in 2005 notes that, an estimated 100 million people -one-quarter of the world’s population- live without shelter or in unhealthy and unacceptable conditions. Over 100 million people around the world have no shelter whatsoever. The health consequences of this level of homelessness are profound. The Action Aid in 2003 had found out that there were 78 million homeless people in India alone. CRY (Child Relief and You) in 2006 estimated that there are 11 million homeless children live on the street. The statistics are grim. What is worse is that very little is known of what it means to be part of such horrific numbers.
Impact of Homelessness on Children
According to a report published by the United Nations, there are 150 million children aged three to 18 years on our streets today—and their numbers are growing fast. 40% of the world’s street children are homeless, the other 60% work on the street to support their families. The UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO) and several NGO’s have got disputing figures in their account of street children. According to CRY(Child Relief and You) about 60 million Indian children under the age of 6 live below the poverty line. The problem has become particularly acute for homeless children, one-fifth of whom receive no education.
According to Indian Embassy figures, there are 314,700 children living on the streets of Bombay [Mumbai], Calcutta [Kolkata], Madras [Chennai], Kanpur, Bangalore and Hyderabad, and another 100,000 live in New Delhi; however, these numbers may not reflect the true picture, as accurate census information is difficult to collect. In truth, millions of India’s children are denied even the most basic rights of survival and protection. Children living on the streets are especially vulnerable to victimization, exploitation, and the abuse of their civil and economic rights.

Homeless

These statistics are just the tip of a very big iceberg, we as a civilization are allowing these conflicts and these atrocities to go on, year after year, whilst we carry on with our daily lives, wanting more, buying more, wasting more….’I need a bigger house’, ‘I need to buy more clothes’, ‘I want the supersized meal with extra fries’, ’I need the Latest iPhone.. Because I just do!…

We live in a throw away society and that my dear friends also includes people, they are out of sight from the majority of us so therefore out of mind, we don’t have to drive or walk past them every day, we don’t have to see their suffering, smell their living conditions or watch them eat whatever scraps they can find…We have just lost sight, lost our way and lost our compassion for our brothers and sisters.

I myself have been there, I have had the wealth, the fast cars, the huge house, the trinkets that money can buy, the expensive food on the table…wanting for nothing but at the same time fighting for more and more and more…..but then reality hits…..BANG….like a smack in the face, a loved one is ill, diagnosed with cancer and there is NOTHING you can do, all the money in the world CANNOT help, the cars, the house, the clothing, the food is all meaningless….then that love is taken away from you…..!

Money, CANNOT buy you Happiness but it can help us change the world, it could be used for good, it can help millions of people, it can stop wars, it can eradicate famine and it can provide shelter for our global brothers and sisters……

So my dear friends, is it not the right time to ‘Make Change’?

We can do so much together….

One Voice at a time.

We can make a difference.

Coming Together to Save our World

Published 26/07/2013 by inspiringyourspirit

together

Were in the year of our Lord 2013 (that’s 2,013 years since the death of Christ) a time in which all time relates, give or take a few years due to local cultures and religious beliefs such as the Mayan calendar and the Nongli Calendar etc..

shutterstock1830582

and our world is still surrounded by War, Famine, Racial conflicts, Political Conflicts, Religious conflicts, territorial conflicts, extreme poverty, homelessness, Greed, Disease, Genocide, Environmental catastrophes one after another, pollution on land and sea, ego and money driven companies raping and pillaging what ever they can through their business ventures and driving down their costs through the exploitation of their employees and their suppliers which in turn puts many small companies out of business and places many poorly paid employees either out of work or on benefits which are then paid for by our taxation, which then in turn helps these huge corporations make even higher annual profits and allows their CEO’s and top executives to have even higher salaries, bonuses and gain even more power in this world!

Why oh why do we find it so hard to come together as human beings? We are after all; all connected, we are all related, we are brothers and sisters of this world, we have unfortunately just forgotten these facts! We are so caught up and too busy with our own lives, our own thoughts, our own desires and pushing forward for our own benefit that we forget that we are one and we were meant to work together for the greater good of all!

handstogether

Together we can make a difference to our world, we can help raise awareness to the problems in our local area, to our local region, to our country and to other countries throughout the world. We can come together to form peace, we can come together to eradicate poverty and make sure everyone in this world has the basic necessities of life; safety, food and shelter, we can come together for the benefit of humanity and clean up our planet so we have a safe and healthy environment for future generations to survive and to live in…We can make a change! but in order to make this change we MUST come together, we must forget the past, we must transgress over politics and religions and come together as human beings. This transformation can start with one voice, one voice becomes two, two voices become three and so on and with compassion and love in our hearts we can make change.

The basic necessities of life being Safety, shelter and food should be easy enough to do, if we can come together and force the powers at be in each country to stop all their BS (Bull S**t), stop wasting our money on their own political and personal power games and on their mansions, multiple holiday homes, fancy cars and yachts and start paying back to humanity for all they have in their lives. If each of them gave only 1% of their annual income or accumulated wealth, we could radically change this world, we could end starvation and start to bring about real change.

I’m not an activist by any means, I am a really peaceful, spiritual person who dearly cares for this world and for all humanity. I would like to see change happening during my lifetime and really see the start of something special, the change towards compassionate living and love towards all our global brothers and sisters.

world-peace-please

One day and one person at a time and we can change this world 🙂

Give Thanks and Hold out your Hand Today.

Gratitude.

Did you know?

399761_361724673906142_672730802_n (1)

Actually, when I take a look at my life I have everything, in fact far too much of everything. I have food in my fridge, clothes on my back, a roof over my head and a place to sleep. I too have money in the bank, money in my wallet and change in my pocket. I certainly woke up this morning with more health than illness. I have never experienced the dangers of battle, the agony of imprisonment or the horrible pangs of starvation, and I was certainly blessed with a great education and opportunities all throughout my life to learn and grow through the loving care of my parents, the love of my family around me and through my life’s (wonderful) experiences.

But what about the rest of humanity, our brothers and sisters around the world who are far less fortunate than ourselves? Will they have any food and water today? Will they find shelter, put a roof over their head and any form of bed to sleep in tonight? What will they have to endure today to get some coins for some scraps of food? Or will they have to forage in our waste to gain a mouthful of anything to keep then going through the day and the long night ahead of them? Will they be safe tonight and if they survive will they be safe tomorrow? Will they be moved on, thrown out into the cold, will they dodge more bullets again today, shelter in blown up buildings and maybe watch friends, family and loved ones loose their limbs and or they lives?

When we look at what we have around us each and every day, when we really look at our lives, take a moment to observe our day, what we do, what we eat, what we throw away, what we dismiss, who we curse, what we complain about and then look at our beautiful children, see them smile, see them play, see them read, watch them eat and fall asleep in our arms with not a element of fear in their eyes as we leave them tucked up in their beds at night…When we really take a minute to observe what we have in our lives, then and only then can we be Thankful and Grateful for our lives…and maybe then and only then will we try to make a difference in this world, hold out our hands to someone in need, where ever they are and in any way we can!

Make today a special day, make it a day of Gratitude, give thanks for all the great things and people we have in our lives and do something good for someone less fortunate.

Namaste
