I came across this image this morning and thought…Wow!…
Isn’t that the truth?…Is poverty, famine, greed, war, disease, injustice in our world only God’s problem?
Should we wait for him/her to deal with it for us, or, should we stand up and be counted?…..Actually get up off our butt’s and do something about the problems in our world!
We are after all, guardians of this planet, guardians for our future, for the future of our children. We all have an obligation to take ownership of what goes on in our world, we are all part of humanity, we are all part of the problem and the possible solution….We are stronger than we think, we can do something about these problems and issues, we can make change, we can stop greed, we can stop injustice, we can stop starvation, we can ALL make a difference and change the future….
We are but a grain of sand amongst billions of other grains of sand, but we are all ‘One’, we all come from the same seed of creation and we owe it to ourselves, to our brothers and sisters of humanity, we owe it to our ancestors, we owe it to our children, we owe it to our grandchildren, we owe it to OURSELVES!
Today is the day for you to sit up, look in the mirror and say “I am part of the problem and, I am part of the solution’ and ‘I can make a difference to this world, our world’..
Go on my friends, do a pledge to yourself, stand up and be counted and be a part of the change you want to see in this ‘Our’ world 🙂 Then go out and actually do something! Join a peace group, help out in a homeless shelter, sign a petition, stop using a product or buying food, drink or fuel from the companies that are polluting our planet, poisoning our children, draining our natural water systems, taking advantage of low wages and not paying their taxes. Stand up for yourself, for your family, for your future 🙂
My wife and I meditating at the top of the Grampian mountains on New Years Day 2015.
I would like to take a moment to thank you all for all your follows, your comments and your support during 2014 and for the friendship and love you have sent me from all around the world.
Love, compassion and awareness of life and the world we live in is what I stand for, I try my best to promote these things through my blog and my daily activities, it is not always easy, there are often set-backs, challenges and sometimes even extremely negative and abusive responses and comments to my posts, I do however take these negative comments in my stride and think of all for the love and support that you guys give me which in turn provides me with the strength to continue on in the hope that we can together help make change.
May and I had the opportunity to spend Christmas and New Year in Australia this year, we spent most of our time in nature, meditating and connecting with the beauty and spirit of Australia’s outback, the positive energy, the weather, the trees and the mountains gave us strength and we are both re-energized to do even more this year 🙂
The dawn of 2015 brought about the sad deaths of 36 people in Shanghai, the city where we live, those souls were lost to our world after a deadly stampede on New Year’s Eve killed 36 and caused the cancellation of celebrations across the city. At least 47 people were injured, including 40 still serious enough to required hospitalization, the Shanghai government said on its website. “The stampede — the city’s deadliest disaster since 2010 — started about 11:35 p.m. on New Year’s Eve as tens of thousands of people crowded into the historic Bund riverside district for a light show”.
My prayers go out to those who are no longer with us and to their families and friends during this time of sorrow, may their souls rest in peace.
2015, what will it bring us?
I do hope that 2015 will bring about greater self realization, more compassion and a greater understanding of our world to us all. For us to work together in the name of peace and move forward towards a happier world where we can all live without the need for war, where we actively work together as one to find ways in which we can bring about the end of poverty, feed the hungry and save our environment from the ravages and destruction of our insatiable greed for more!…We can, I believe; achieve great things in 2015, we are on our way, our voices are now at last being heard, the powers that be are now starting to take notice, we can make a difference, we can bring about change.
Lao Tzu wrote this quote around 2,500 years ago and here we are in the year 2014 and we still allow humanity and our world to be controlled by the few. Corrupt governments, greedy politicians, corporate greed at the expense and exploitation of their workers, obscene amounts of waste, our natural resources raped and pillaged to fill the pockets of the elite, war raging around our world in the so called name of freedom, our oceans, rivers and fields laid to waste….When will we ever learn?
Cutting back on our waste and our need for more would help millions of people everyday all around the world, our obsession for the finest, and our greed needs to slow down in order for us to bring back a balance to humanity…
Remember ‘World Hunger’ is not just in Africa, there are millions of people starving in our own countries but they are not in the focus of media attention or in our minds as we pass them by each and everyday.
Reach out today, give something small to a soup kitchen in your neighbourhood, a gift of food or even a helping hand will make all the difference to someones life!
If you as an adult could go back in time right now, back to when you were a child of between the ages of 5 to 12 years old, and have the ability to talk to your modern day self and to the world, what would say?
Please watch this short video and take a look at the images below before you put pen to paper. (You can click on any image to see the full picture and read all the words)
Have you ever seen extreme poverty and hunger with your own eyes? I don’t mean on TV or on a Youtube video? Right there, in front of your eyes, to see that child or the adult sift through garbage with their bare hands and scrape a few mouthfuls of contaminated food scrapings!…I can tell you, it breaks your heart!
As I sit here watching this short video, I wonder how we will spend the next couple of days!…We will all rush out and buy more food and fill our tables with every possible treat known to mankind, we will celebrate New Years Eve with family and friends and we will ask for the New Year to bring us even more of everything we desire and we will eat and eat until we are fit to burst!
I wonder how the family in the video will spend their New Year?
