Positivity

My Dear Friends,

Positivity.. noun. ….’The quality or state of being positive’. “Something that is positive’

What does this word really mean to me and to you?….Well, I believe that waking up with a positive attitude is really important to our lives, positivity brings us to where we want to be, it connects us to our heart, it connects us to our divine self, to our true self and it takes us away from our negative self, our ego-self!

We believe that things or people make us unhappy, but this is not accurate. We make ourselves unhappy. Very little is needed to make our lives happy; we all already possess this skill,  it’s all to do with our way of thinking.

Suffering and the onslaught of negativity and pain is brought on from our desires. Our desire to remain in the current state, to keep our youthful looks, our trim figure, our beautiful hair, our desire to gain wealth, desire to achieve greater control, greater power, more authority, our desire for sensual pleasures, for alcohol, drugs, food, money, and of course our desire to be happy….So we constantly strive to find this happiness everywhere, we seek it each and every day, we see people on the street, on the TV in the media who look happy in their big houses, their jobs, in their relationships..so we want the same, right?

I have learned that happiness starts within, it starts with our thoughts and our positivity helps is live happy contented lives, I know for sure that when my ego mind steps up, then my happiness and positivity levels drop through the floor. It eats away at you, controls you, and brings you down to its level, to where it wants you to be.

So, I have decided that ‘positivity’ is my new keyword, I have been through a lot, especially over these past few months. This has allowed my ego mind to play tricks on me, to put me in ‘The Victim’ mode, to make me feel sorry for myself, to allow me to have negative thoughts about all that I do, and all that happens to me. My negative emotions have taken control of my life…..and, ‘enough is enough’…I’m taking my life back,

……I’m taking my life back, I’m getting back in the saddle, taking up the reigns again for my life, I’m moving on, I’m holding my head high and ‘I’m happy 🙂

So, this morning when my dogs came in to wake me, I got up straight away, I greeted them with a smile as they wagged their tails and gave me their usual dose of unconditional love, I gave thanks in prayer to The Buddha, to the Ascended Masters, to My Parents, to my family and friends, and I vowed to continue my journey of self-discovery with a new vigour, with a bounce in my step, and with new love in my heart, a new love for me, for the person I am and for the person I will be.

Living Life in the Present

Published 05/04/2016 by inspiringyourspirit

Paying attention to the present moment, rather than constantly getting lost in ruminative fantasies, that we learn most and can be best prepared for our lives.

Borkovec on the Present

This is a powerful passage and has a great deal of resonance with mindfulness practice.  Part of what we’re trying to do is to learn from life – but to learn, we need to be present. One definition of mindfulness is that it’s a state of mind where we can encode memories.  Mindfulness is a kind of alertness where the attention can actually absorb what is happening, moment-by-moment.

The only influence we have on the future is how well we tend to the present. By tending to what’s here and what’s now, and learning from what’s here and now, we grow in ways that should help us meet the future most effectively.

Imagining the Future: How good are we at predicting our emotional responses?

So much of anxiety is about imagining the future.  But how good are we at imagining our emotional future? How good are our predictions about how a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ event might make us feel? There is a whole body of research dedicated to these types of questions called affective forecasting.  Daniel Gilbert, the Harvard psychologist and author of Stumbling on Happiness, has become famous for this work. As it turns out, while we tend to be accurate guessing whether a particular event is likely to make us feel positive or negative, we tend to make important errors in other aspects of our predictions.  Specifically, we tend to overestimate the impact of particular emotional events.  That is, we believe that a particular event will have both a more intense and enduring effect on our emotional life.  Here is a summary of one of Gilbert’s articles:

Affective Forecasting

What is being suggested here is that we are actually more resilient than we tend to believe. We assume that we’ll have more trouble coping than we tend to have. When faced with a challenging situation, the mind quickly makes meanings and interpretations that help soften the impact and we feel better much faster than we tend to anticipate.  This is important for us to absorb.

All the Forks in All the Roads

The famous poem, The Road Not Taken, from Robert Frost:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

It’s a lovely poem – but we want to make a different point than the one that’s usually made about this poem.  When we pay attention to our minds, it feels like we’re always coming to a fork in the road. Each decision, each uncertainty, each possibility – it seems we’re at a new fork, standing before two roads that diverge. We usually assume that one road is the right way and one road is the wrong way – and if we just think hard enough, we’ll figure out which is which.  But is this true? How many times do we truly come to fork in the road that is truly an important fork? And can we always know which is the “right” path?

Some of what mindfulness practice shows us is that there are actually fewer forks than we think and that even what seemed like a fork, in retrospect, may not be of major importance. We probably have all had that experience where we thought our lives were riding on the outcome of something specific – but later realize that it actually didn’t matter much which way it turned out.  Both roads have joys and sorrows.  Both roads have pleasure and pain and gain and loss.  Sometimes the road that seems less preferable has things to teach us we could never imagine.

Unfolding My Wings, I Fly.

Freedom of mind leaves me with peace, the true peace, tranquility and happiness meant for my life here on Earth within this lifetime.

Freeing my mind and it’s torturous ways and the bindings of thought that hold me back from reaching my full potential. I am a divine being, I am light, I am love, I am one with God and my mind will no longer hold me prisoner within this lifetime.

My destiny is in my own hands, my future happiness is within my control, my mind will no longer play a part in my life because I have chosen to take back the controls and broken free of its grasp, I cut myself free from its bindings and will live my life in happiness with grace and ease.

Today, a new day, a day to be thankful for, a new dawning has given rise to my birthing, the birthing of the new me, a refreshed me, a being of light whose wings of freedom have been bound in the past, hidden from my view, but these wings are now free, they are open and ready to take flight, to soar high into the light, above the clouds that cast darkness on humanity, to take me to new pastures, and a new beginning.

I give thanks for all that I am,

I give thanks for all I will be.

The Heart and The Mind

My Dear Friends,

I have been away from my blog for a couple of weeks or so now, searching deep within myself, connecting with my heart, my soul and finding my Divine Self. This journey has been amazing, it has taken me to places within my very being that I have never been before, it has opened me up to emotions and to feelings that have been long repressed by my mind and my ego and it has given me the chance to make peace with and to let go of many things from my life that have been holding me back from reaching my full potential within this lifetime.

To finally making peace with; and to letting go of old belief systems from this lifetime and also connecting me to many previous lifetimes, old Karma, Aspects, contracts and agreements tied to old experiences, and promises made by me and other previous lives. Coming face to face with these has brought me much needed clarity, understanding and closure as to what has in fact been controlling my life thus far, and also the realisation of my future, my spiritual journey and where in fact that is leading me.

My meditations, ceremonies and connections with the Divine Masters has been wonderful, connecting with them each and everyday, channelling them and downloading their messages, their wisdom and their codes for my life, connecting me with places outside of this world, this reality and this dimension and taking me to places I have never dreamed of possible. But now I know different, I have experienced so much in these past few weeks, I have seen, touched and connected with the light and the awesome power from the very heart of God. I’m blessed with this ability and I now hold out my life in service to the light and to help others understand the pathway to the light and what that power will bring to Humanity.

I will share more of this journey with you during the next few months as I take further steps forward on my personal journey of discovery. I will endeavour to share my experiences, some of the codes, mantra’s and messages given to me and to help you in anyway possible so you too may be able to experience this wonderful journey into the light.

Blessings of Love and Light

Observation & Judgement …..Your Mind and The Games We Have To Play

Published 13/08/2015 by inspiringyourspirit

awareness

My Dear Friends,

You have to be quicker than your own mind!

When you see yourself analysing or negatively judging what you observe in yourself, whether it is a thought, emotion, or attitude, be more clever than the one who is judging or analysing. Step back into the observer; observe the judge and don’t judge him. The judge becomes the object of your observation. Remember to make every disturbing element the object of your observation; in this way, the observer goes more deeply into observation each time, whereas if you see what comes as an obstacle to observation, it becomes one.

The more you are in the observer , the less importance the object you observe has. When you are in the state of the observer, , which is not the state of the dreamer, you observe what you decide to observe and are awake to the rest; otherwise this state of concentration leads to emptiness, but to a hollow emptiness. True emptiness is the emptiness of the observer who is detached from the mechanism and capable of taking in everything. Thoughts come and go in your emptiness, and it remains empty because nothing remains attached to it.  The observer sees everything, it remains tranquil, there are no negative emotions . Everything is handles rightly. Things pass, the observer can take them seriously or lightly, it is identified with nothing. Judgment belongs to the world of things that pass.

So keep on observing with no judgment my friends and have some fun with your mind.

Inner Peace, What is it?

IMG_3651

It is so easy for us to talk about Inner Peace and what living in the ‘Now’ does for your life, how it brings an end to our suffering and allows us to live in contentment and look at our lives and the world around us with a different set of eyes!

But how easy is it for us to reach this state of ‘Inner Peace’? Well I guess there is no short answer to that question because some of us find ‘Inner Peace’ very quickly whilst others look for it throughout their lives and never actually find it. And for some they gain ‘Inner Peace’ then slip right back into their old ways of living like they are on that never ending diet, loosing weight, gaining fitness only to return to old habits, gain weight and on goes that perpetual circle of life!

I know I have struggled throughout my life, battling with Ego, past life issues, memories of terrible relationships, pain and bad experiences in life but when i actually ‘walk the talk’ and live in the now, when I stop focussing on ‘how stressed I am’ and remember ‘how blessed I am’, my life changes immediately for the better, my health improves rapidly, my smiles bring about other smiles, my laughter heals my pain and I see the world how it should and could be and I gain strength each day to get out there and do some good for mankind and mother earth.

Inner Peace is controlled by you and you alone, once you realize this and start to manage your mind, your life can, and will change for the better…

Go on, give it a try, for once the old saying is true…’The Grass Is Greener On The Other Side’

Let Go and Grow

Published 31/08/2013 by inspiringyourspirit

Let Go

We all do it!…Hold on to memories, good or bad, problems, issues, traumas, past experiences that tie us down and stop us from flying free, but why?

It happens to the best of us.

We do our best to be positive, to meditate, to be in the ‘Now’, in the ‘Moment’ we try to push away the past, forget about thinking of the future and live for today, for this special ‘moment’ in time that we are experiencing right here, right now.

But then it comes back to haunt us again, our ‘Ego’, testing us, bringing us to task and remembering to remind us of the past and to re-direct our thoughts to the future too…

I was again at this very point yesterday morning, questioning myself yet again, ‘Why Me, Why Now’..testing my inner self re my own spiritual journey, the pathway i’m on and the reasons why i’m walking this pathway of spiritual healing. Also questioning why I have been blessed (or is it cursed) with these gifts that have for some reason been bestowed on me!… So to gain some clarity and to help stop my Ego in its tracks I decided to meet with a Buddhist Monk friend of mine yesterday, we sat, meditated, shared our passions for humanity and talked about this and that, we shared stories, we laughed and we smiled, a lot 🙂 I opened my heart, I cried a lot especially regarding my own suffering for the suffering i see and feel from others, we discussed my journey and my mission. We prayed and shared the spiritual love and compassion of the Buddha and then it happened, as if by magic….A clearing of my mind, peace and Joy was once more back in my heart and in my mind.

My Ego was gone and I was in the ‘Now’ once again, I let myself…. ‘Just Be’…

Namaste my friends

May your weekend be filled with Love, with Joy and may your face be filled with the most wonderful Smile 🙂

Being in the Now

Being in the Now

524094_324316764324681_1324529803_n[1]

By Chessie Roberts

A group that I was in recently was asked why we should be in the moment, in the now. How to get there and how we stay there in our day to day life. Some of the responses were things like “why is this important?” and “it’s too hard”. The one comment that really made me realize that the group was not “getting” the concept was when someone said, “I have to get out of the now to let my mind rest and to stay sane.”
The fact is that staying in your now will do just that. By allowing your mind to rest you will keep your sanity. Think about it, if you are not into what you are doing, who you are with and aware of, where are you at any given moment, you must ask yourself what is going on in your mind? For most people the mind is bouncing back and forth between what you wish you had done, what you feel you should have done in the past, what you are going to do later, how you are going to do it, and with whom in the future.
Because of this unfocused state, what you are doing at the present moment is not done well or correctly. You end up with a job not well done which gives you something to grind on later. Then you grind on it later, while trying to do something else. Do you see the cycle here? This will create stress, fear, apprehension and distress; all leading to some sort of dis-ease in your biology. This thought state also makes time seem to drag out to an uncomfortable duration and this keeps you unhappy in your present, fretful about the consequences of your past actions and apprehensive about future plans.
Now, if you are attending to what you are doing right now, in this minute, you have no agitation or upset. You are focused on ‘right now’. In this way you become consciously aware of the joy of time well spent in purposeful activity. You will be assured that you did your best and you will actually find joy in the moment (because you aren’t worried about all the other stuff) You will notice things that passed you by before because you were distracted. You will enjoy even mundane tasks more because of your focus, and you will not feel spread too thin. These feelings will occur spontaneously because your mind is free of tormenting “wish I had”, “I should have”, “gosh I could have”, “why didn’t I” type thoughts. Nor are you plagued by the “what is next” thing encroaching on your mind and, you find peace.

This is why and how meditation works. As your mind becomes quiet, your body becomes peaceful. When you learn how to live that way all of the time, you begin to live in peace and grace, and understandings dawn upon you.
Next question is how do you stay in your now ? It is an inherent trait, you are born with this ability. Watch a child at play. How many times does Mom have to call before the child realizes there is something going on outside his now? In actuality you, as an adult, do it more than you think. Remember a time when you were doing something that made time seem to stand still? You were doing it then. Just become consciously aware of what you are doing, where you are doing it and with whom, even if it is just yourself. That is the act of being in your now. Yes, it is a process? Yes, you have to work at it a bit, but, truly all you need to do is to remember it. Anything you have ever done required the same investment to make it a part of you daily life. Learning to walk, talk, drive and yes to think. This is just a calmer more productive, satisfying and peaceful way to do the thinking.

Congratulations to you on your decision to pursue your path to inner peace. Love, light, laughter and bright blessings as well as new things to grace your path.
