Taking Time Out in the Concrete Jungle of Shanghai

Published 17/05/2016 by inspiringyourspirit

My Dear Friends,

One of my dear blogging friends Saymber said to me a few days ago, and I quote “.it’s important to stay grounded in these things. I would suggest a nice bit of time outside without shoes and socks and maybe some of your favorite music”. I replied that Β its not so easy living in a concrete jungle with 28,000,000 (that’s 28 million) other souls, but I agreed with her that what she was saying was so true and i really needed to get myself grounded, take my shoes and socks off and re-connect with Mother Earth, so today, I did it πŸ™‚ And I feel fantastic πŸ™‚ I took a walk to my closest Buddhist temple for some we deserved meditation and prayers and on the way back I spent some quality time reconnecting, standing amongst the trees, observing the gentle breeze in the leaves, listening to the birds and totally clearing my mind.

Mother nature is so beautiful and she will share her beauty with you whenever you need it, she can be found on the corner of a busy street, under a shady tree set in the concrete walkway, or even in a simple window box of flowers, all we need to do is ‘Open our Eyes’ πŸ™‚

Blessings Saymber, and thank you Mother Earth for bringing me home today,

Namaste, with Love

The Earth from the Hubble Telescope, What a Delicate Place we Live In!

My Dear Friends,

I came across this wonderful picture today taken from the Hubble Telescope and after looking at it for a few minutes, It looks like the world is being held in the loving embrace of an Angels wings, which then got me thinking just how delicate our world is and how we need to do something to protect it.

I have written about our environment many times, however, like many who write on environmental issues; most readers think it will be all sorted out for them, someone else will make the effort to stand up and be counted, someone else will go out and clean up their local area, someone else will go on a march re climate change or pollution to our environment.

So many people look at the news and see the devastation that is happening to our environment all around the world, oil spills, water pollution, fracking, toxic waste dumping, but very few people will actually do anything unless it happens on their doorstep, and I mean on their doorstep, most people won’t even do anything if it happens in their country, their county, or their city…. so unless it’s on their doorstep; they just turn a blind eye and say, ‘ it’s not my problem’!

However, it is our problem because to use the following example, the terrible radiation leak from the Tsunami hit Nuclear plant in Japan is now polluting the oceans of our world, millions of fish, Whales, Dolphins and sea creatures in the Pacific Ocean are dying because of this natural disaster! So, will you do anything if all of a sudden you cannot eat any fish from the ocean? or You cannot go into the ocean for a swim when you are on holiday in the Philippines, Thailand, Indian Ocean, Australasia, West Coast of America, Hawaii, Chile, Argentina, Mexico etc?

I wish we could lift our heads, take notice and take ownership; because we are ‘ALL’ part of the problem (as consumers) and we are all capable of doing something about it, we can stop buying goods that pollute our environment, we can stop using plastic bags, buying plastic bottles of juice, water etc, we can source from more environmentally friendly companies, we can join a local clean up group, we can sign a petition to save our planet, there is so much we can do to make change happen, but as long as we say ‘It’s not my problem’ then we will NEVER make CHANGE HAPPEN!

We live on a beautiful planet, that looks after us each and every day, now my dear friends, it’s our turn to do the looking after….

Go on, do your bit, it will make you feel Sooooooooo Goood πŸ™‚

We Are All Visitors to This Life, We Are Just Passing Through.

My Dear Friends,

I came across this wonderful quote today and felt the urge to write a simple post πŸ™‚

“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love ….and then we return home”…..

Wonderful..I just love it. These wonderful words really do resonate with my heart. As you all know, I recently had an actual death experience, but luckily for me I was brought back by the wonderful paramedics in the ambulance, and since that experience; I have been spending countless hours just thinking, well, not so much thinking, rather; clearing my mind of the clutter and actually observing my life and all that goes on in and around my life.

This ’emptiness of mind’ as I like to call it has given me aΒ new perspective of what is and what is not important. I now 100% realise that love for myself, for my family, for friends and all beings is really important to me. This observation has taught me that I am wasting, yes; wasting so much of my life on trivial, unimportant things. I’m doing far too much to get the job done, but not paying any attention to myself, to my health, to my life. I always do my utmost best to do everything on time, to be perfect or as near perfect as possible, to make everyone happy, to do, to do more and to do even more for everyone….but me!….

Love of self, is really important, because if we don’t love ourselves then how can we expect others to love us?

So, we are now coming close to the end of 2015 and I am not one to have New Year Resolutions, to set myself goals for the coming year but I thought, Hey! Why not this year!….So, I have decided that I will clean up my act, sweep the floors and cobwebs our of my life and start 2016 with a fresh outlook, I will love myself, each and every day, I will honour myself each day, I will be thankful for each day, I will be thankful for all I have in my life, I will hold love and compassion in my heart for all beings here on earth, I will do my best to help make our world a better place to live, I will cut out the wasted hours and turn these hours into positive acts of kindness to myself and to others, I will write more, I will write that book that I have promised to do for the past ???? How many years, I will spend more time with my family and friends, I will spend more time in nature, I will meditate more, I will want for less….and

I will contemplate on and learn from all my past experiences, I will grow more spiritually, I will Love…and…after doing all I can and after ‘Living the rest of my life to the full’…

I will return home πŸ™‚

Tomorrow is a new day, tomorrow is a new opportunity to live πŸ™‚

What is the difference between

I Like You

and

I Love You

?

Beautifully answered by Buddha:

“When you like a flower, you just pick it. But when you love a flower, you water it daily and enjoy it.

The one who understands this, understands life”!

Hey You, Yes You…If your could escape, where would you escape to?

escape

Hi Everyone and Good Morning from not so sunny Shanghai where the pollution level today at 11:13am is stated to be 225 Very Unhealthy with health warnings of emergency conditions. The entire population is more likely to be effected. Actually I think the true reading at this time will be more like 400+ but who am I to say!

20131206_085201

Anyway back to my post for today πŸ™‚

I would love your feedback, your comments and your thoughts on this one please because I’m feeling lonely here in my apartment looking out at this grey polluted sky 😦

So Escape! If you could escape, escape to anywhere, real or fantasy, where would it be to and why?

[wallcoo]_mountain_and_lake_Photography_82849[wallcoo]_mountain_and_lake_Photography_38012

In my case, I would escape to the mountains, to the forest to the trees where I could breathe the fresh mountain air, fill my lungs with invigorating fresh life giving air to feel the cool breeze and the gentle warmth of the sun on my face, to smell the grass, the sweet intoxicating scents of nature, the flowers, the herbs, the soil. To watch the birds dance in the air, chasing each other from tree to tree from branch to branch, to observe the butterflies and the bees as they go about their daily task of collecting natures goodness and helping spread the love from one flower to another. And, to sit in silence, to hear the quiet, the gentle rustle of leaves as they sway in the wind, the sound of water flowing in the steams and the distant splash of a fish jumping after dragonflies as they skim over the lake, far, far away from the madness of city life, from the life of constant drive, noise, selfishness and anger away from the fast lane of life to where we were all destined to be, with Mother Nature, with Gaia…Home πŸ™‚

Open You Eyes and See The Beauty of Nature

If Only!

If only we could all open our eyes and see the wonders that Mother Nature lays out for us each and every day!
Infinite beauty is everywhere, in the first light of day, the wind through the trees, flowers in bloom, the sweet scent of a rose, song birds calling out, insects chattering, rivers meandering quietly through the countryside, ocean waves breaking on the shoreline, children laughing as they play in the yard or on the street side, senior citizens chatting as they pass the time of day, the quietness of a smile that makes your day as its passed to you by a stranger on the street to the quietness of the closing of the day, the clouds, the stars….What a wonderful world…

Let’s Open our Eyes and Live πŸ™‚

I would like to dedicate this post to my mum on Mother’s Day, her beauty and wisdom will ‘Always’ be with me..RIP with the Angels..with Love Mark

The Beauty of Nature

Published 24/11/2012 by inspiringyourspirit

Natural Life.

Take a moment to notice
The beauty of the trees.
Sit and take a look
At the dancing leaves.
Note the little child
Laughing, playing with a toy.
Always so full of energy;
Humongous amounts of joy.
Don’t crush the insects,
Who are 1/1000ths of your weight.
They may creep up your path,
But don’t decide their fate.
Life’s not about avoiding storms.
Instead, dance in the rain.
The Earth is so beautiful;
Why must we cause it’s pain?
Take time off your busy schedule
To glance at the starry night.
Because nature is genius.
So pretty, such a sight!

Paradise not Lost

Published 22/09/2012 by inspiringyourspirit

Open your eyes to the true beauty that Mother Nature has to offer! See the richness of color from the Azure Blue Pacific Ocean to the whiteness of the clouds and the lush greens from the palms of the coconut tree, what’s not to love? I can feel the warm breeze on my face, smell the intoxicatingly sweet scents from the Coconuts and Fairmont Orchids and taste the salt in the air from the ocean spray as the droplets are carried far and wide in the wind.
Hawaii, a beautiful place, a spiritual place..Paradise on Earth!
Let’s work together as one and protect this beauty for all generations to come…Please don’t let it fade away!
