My Dear Friends,

Positivity.. noun. ….’The quality or state of being positive’. “Something that is positive’

What does this word really mean to me and to you?….Well, I believe that waking up with a positive attitude is really important to our lives, positivity brings us to where we want to be, it connects us to our heart, it connects us to our divine self, to our true self and it takes us away from our negative self, our ego-self!

We believe that things or people make us unhappy, but this is not accurate. We make ourselves unhappy. Very little is needed to make our lives happy; we all already possess this skill,  it’s all to do with our way of thinking.

Suffering and the onslaught of negativity and pain is brought on from our desires. Our desire to remain in the current state, to keep our youthful looks, our trim figure, our beautiful hair, our desire to gain wealth, desire to achieve greater control, greater power, more authority, our desire for sensual pleasures, for alcohol, drugs, food, money, and of course our desire to be happy….So we constantly strive to find this happiness everywhere, we seek it each and every day, we see people on the street, on the TV in the media who look happy in their big houses, their jobs, in their relationships..so we want the same, right?

I have learned that happiness starts within, it starts with our thoughts and our positivity helps is live happy contented lives, I know for sure that when my ego mind steps up, then my happiness and positivity levels drop through the floor. It eats away at you, controls you, and brings you down to its level, to where it wants you to be.

So, I have decided that ‘positivity’ is my new keyword, I have been through a lot, especially over these past few months. This has allowed my ego mind to play tricks on me, to put me in ‘The Victim’ mode, to make me feel sorry for myself, to allow me to have negative thoughts about all that I do, and all that happens to me. My negative emotions have taken control of my life…..and, ‘enough is enough’…I’m taking my life back,

……I’m taking my life back, I’m getting back in the saddle, taking up the reigns again for my life, I’m moving on, I’m holding my head high and ‘I’m happy 🙂

So, this morning when my dogs came in to wake me, I got up straight away, I greeted them with a smile as they wagged their tails and gave me their usual dose of unconditional love, I gave thanks in prayer to The Buddha, to the Ascended Masters, to My Parents, to my family and friends, and I vowed to continue my journey of self-discovery with a new vigour, with a bounce in my step, and with new love in my heart, a new love for me, for the person I am and for the person I will be.

Time To let Go, Start Living Your Life and Be Free

Published 16/03/2015 by inspiringyourspirit

I have read and also written many posts regarding ‘Letting Go’, letting go of the past, breaking free from the chains that bind you down and hold you back from enjoying your life and reaching your full potential. These chains, shackles from the past can be of different sorts, they can be relationships, family, work based, life experiences, traumatic events, abuse etc but in the end they are all the same in their effect on your life. Never a day goes by without your mind relating to these past events or experiences, or thinking about ways in which you can change the past, re-connect with the person who grieves you, wishing they would be loving towards you, these experiences conjure up many awful thoughts and bad memories in your mind, they take over your life and effect everything you try to do. For the majority of us we push on with our lives and hope we will feel better, we try to mend the past through the things we try to do in the ‘now’ and also plan things for the future that we hope will take away the pain and make amends for these past experiences which have had so much of a negative effect on our life.

I too have had my own fair share of burdens in this life time, and I’m sure many others in previous lives too, I try to think positively most of the time (highlight on ‘most’ 🙂 ) but those nagging memories just come back time and time again, they continue to bring our morale down and control our lives in the ‘Now’….

So,…’Now’ is the time to take a real stance, it’s time to let go once and for all, to break the chains that shackle us down, that tie our wings to our bodies and restrict our flight.

We need to smile at the experience, the memory, at a picture of the person or re-connect to the past event and say goodbye, to wish them well and give thanks for the good things we now have in our lives, for all the love we have ‘right now’ and for all the love that is waiting for us on the other side of this experience, we need to break free from these chains, spread our wings and ‘FLY’ move on to pastures green, to a new life of positive possibilities, to live our lives as they should be lived without the burden and weight of these past events…’Now’ is where we should and need to be, always ‘Now’

If you are struggling with the past and need any help breaking free of these chains that hold you back, please reach out and I will be there for you, my sword at the ready breaking those chains that tie your wings my friends…

Who are you and how do you see yourself?

mirror

Is it possible to see ‘Ourselves’ truly in a mirror?

Think about this. A person may look down and see only parts of the body, chest, arms, hands, torso, private parts, legs, and feet, but can a person ever really see themselves, their true self? When one looks into a mirror, a reflection is presented. It is a reflection of the light that hits the surface of the body, then the mirror and then our eyes. The image is reversed. It is not so easy to notice this, unless some writing is held up to the mirror and then it becomes obvious that the letters are backwards. So what are we really seeing when we look into a mirror?

When we engage with other people the same is true, our perception of what we say and do, how we act is to only see a reflection of ourselves, not necessarily our true nature and certainly not how others may see us. Others may react to our physical appearance, our personality, our spoken words, our aura or possibly a combination of these, but do they actually know us, the real essence of who we are, our true soul? Not likely, because in most cases we do not even know this ourselves. The reason is because it is ever changeable. Reality is fluid, in constant motion, and subject to interpretation. Any perception of reality is only a momentary snapshot of that instance taken by one’s particular conscious awareness from their point of view. It is fleeting, unreliable, and not necessarily true.

Our entire world, or at least our concept of it, is made up of these perceptual “snapshots” that are stitched together in a vast tapestry of our existence. We each make a model of reality and create conditioned fields within it, we also teach our children to see things the way we do. This is the source of separation within the whole, the way we define ourselves. We mentally make a circle to contain a group of thoughts, impressions and memories; then we artificially define this collection in our minds as a concept to give it some form of meaning. This is how we created nation states and made artificial boundary lines on the earth to separate one from the other; when the truth is that the entire earth is our home. We have created friends, families, dogma and religion out of this as well. The minute we define any part of our consciousness as separate from the whole, it gives it meaning, but it also creates a void between ourselves and others that are not included within our circle.

The key to a deeper understanding of reality is to question our concepts of reality. Consider this metaphor. If total perception is a field from floor to ceiling, then human perception is only a razor-thin slice of the total. This is very easy to prove, just look at the range of sounds that animals can hear that humans cannot. What’s more, sound is just one of the senses, some creatures use senses that people simply don’t have, many fish can sense electricity and birds and turtles are all thought to migrate using the Earth’s magnetic field.

Even more alien to our narrow field of perception: Consider the Monarch Butterfly. These large red-winged insects begin their lives in the forests of Mexico, then over three generations they fly north through America and into Canada with the 3rd generation making the flight all the way back to the same forests from where their grandparents were born, even though they themselves have never been there! Another example can be found in mating Pacific Salmon, these fish leave the oceans where they have lived their entire adult lives to swim back to land, they return to the very same place in the same exact river where they were born to lay their eggs for the next generation.

How these creatures make the journey and make it together as a species is completely unknown to us, yet they must sense something, something that guides them, something that we can’t sense.

We must embrace our limitations and recognize them.

It is also clear that the observer affects the perception. Scientific evidence has demonstrated that the observer’s effect on the outcome of that being observed is different for every person and its actual reality.

All those who know you, in a way are your reflections, meaning that if you do good, you will see only good in others. Similarly, if you think positively and project positivity to those you encounter in your life, you will not notice the negativity in others. Consider this, for those who have been through tough or difficult times in their lives, when the negativity in their world begins to enter their thoughts and control their minds then they probably remained in this same unpromising situation for a long period of time, it can be easy to spiral into depression in these circumstances and require help to get you out! Yet, when your thoughts begin to look brighter and you can feel positive about yourself and your future, that positivity multiplies and grows until it eventually replaces the negativity and you have, perhaps without noticing, turned your own situation around.

What have you done in the past to move away from the negative people who come into your life? Or do you just grin and bare it, put up with them in the hope that they will go away and leave you alone! Most people do in fact just put up with it and continue thinking of these negative people as friends, and every time they meet up with them they manage to bring their positivity down one more level, time after time they bring them down. The positive people and winners in our world spot negative people from a mile away and steer well clear of them and only surround themselves with positive creative and complementary people that will enhance their own positivity even further.

Inwardly your spiritual awareness and integrity determines who you really are, though outwardly this is noticed more by others than by ourselves. You can present a different face to other people than that of your true self, though this takes energy to do, what’s more you might be ham-stringing yourself by closing yourself off from the input of others as it’s an important part of building self-awareness to listen to how others see you and to use that input productively. It is only when you become aware, that your mind becomes conscious to experience and realize who and what you are and of course this will be noticed by others in small differences in how you move; hold yourself and even how you talk.

mirror2

Having realized who you are and accepted your real self, your true nature, it is also very important to like yourself. There are many who really do not like themselves or are not happy with their present status. There are always comparisons, envy, demands, pressures and such trying to bring down your self-esteem; these external influences exert a negative pull on your inner self, on your positivity. Please do remember that you have a strong relationship with your external and inner personality, and the simple method is you need to spend time with yourself and love that solitude in order to enjoy your own company in solitude. It is only when you love your own self that you shall be able to love others.

Develop Immunity against Negativity

Published 27/02/2013 by inspiringyourspirit

Negativity is viral. It spreads quickly, as it is infectious. Stay with a negative person for a while and you will be infected, from out of nowhere your mind will fall into a negative, downward spiral! You know very well that in your family, or in your work place, you are surrounded by umpteen numbers of the carrier of this deadly disease. Negativity is the root cause of diseases.

We need to discuss various ways and means to take care of this root disease of all illnesses of mind and body.

Let us not forget that the breeding ground of all mind-body diseases start with our thoughts. Is there anything that can be prescribed to rid ourselves of this most potent negative virus? Are there any home remedies we can use to fight off our negative thoughts?

Just as when you feel so healthy and happy when you drink pure water, you can also gift yourself the joy of drinking the positive thoughts of your mind that will eventually purify the water of your body. That is what you are, water and space! Your thoughts purify water and your thoughts purify space!!!!
It is so surprising that we are so careful that we don’t ever compromise on the quality of drinking water. We have the best purifiers and always make sure we drink pure water, uncontaminated by any poisonous chemicals.
But how come we poison the water of our body (approximately 70% of it is water) with poisonous chemicals and disease producing hormones, and suffer with all kinds of dis-ease! Let us not forget that our negative thoughts or attitude about life are more poisonous than anything else. You are not only inhaling polluted air, but are poisoning the water of your body with negative thoughts.
With positive thoughts, the water of your body can become purified, and lead you to health, both in body and in mind.
But this process of self-purification can be very difficult. Most people today are surrounded by and bombarded with all kinds of negative environments at home and in the work place! That is the reason I am trying to share with you all that until we focus FIRST on changing the INNER ENVIRONMENT, the outer environmental support will not come to us.

As you know, negativity is destructive. It destroys much of your natural tendencies to stand firm for higher goals of life. It sucks your energy from inside, and your self-esteem or your self-confidence is afflicted with this negative force. It robs your good qualities and divine potentials.
Your goal is to take charge of your thoughts, not others’ thoughts, and let them flow, not succumbing to the pull of the instinctive lower mind. Lift your thoughts with your own mind. For your mind can be heaven or it can be hell, either of which are your own creation.
Intensify your conviction that you alone can change the thoughts of your mind. Deeply realize that every thought creates an outcome according to its own nature.

In my book, Making Your Mind Your Best Friend, you are taught to befriend your own mind. Basically the idea is that through meditative practices you begin to learn to anchor yourself with the Spirit within.
Identify the areas that trigger your negativity. Identify the persons who push you into negative brooding. From now on try to evoke your positive energy. Always think well about those persons and try to be more conscious and alert when you face situations that trigger your negative impulses. You have to gradually lighten up the areas that suffer with lesser light.
The whole process is one of your awakening the self-management part in your mind, which unfortunately no universities in the world care to teach. The more you become aware of your strengths, and at the same time your weaknesses, the more it is possible for you to reinforce your strengths and work vigilantly to transform your weaknesses into strengths of your character.

The whole universe is continually supporting you if only you accept, acknowledge, and arise to the situations that demand your Mindfulness.
Keep working throughout the day, and when you retire to bed and are about to fall asleep, sit erect, relax your body, and focus your mind on your breathing. Feel a sense of calm descending upon your being and at that point of time impregnate into your subconscious mind positive affirmations about how good your life can be. When your mind is calm and your body is relaxed, the gateway to universal intelligence opens up. Then whatever you commune reaches to the subtler regions of your own being. Your transformation is assured. You’re on your way to freedom!

If you vigilantly work on your thoughts, and make sure that they are not like a stagnant pool, but like a flowing crystalline creek, then you can be sure that your thoughts will flow with the rhythm of the Universal Laws. From Laws of attraction, to laws of forgiveness, to laws of acceptance, and to laws of transcendence you will flow. Your positive thoughts will purify your mind, and your body, and the water and space within. You have truly begun to heal yourself from the inside-out and to immunize yourself against the virus of negativity!
