Hollow Words Bring Us No Hope!

My Dear Friends,

It’s been a while since my fingers touched this keyboard and my heart has spoken words to you!

I, like many others, have been lost for words as we watch the unfolding dramas of our 21st Century world, our so-called civilised societies which have been caught up in wars for no reason, and whole communities within these civilised societies turned against each other in the name of race/colour and religious belief.

As I look at all that has unfolded over this past year alone, I shed tears, tears for mankind, tears for our world and tears for our future. As we continue to look at each other with hatred in our eyes, it is like we are caught up in an elaborate computer game in which the players manipulate the drones to follow their lead, to fight and to die at all costs, and move on to the next stage of the game in search of more power and wealth!….Elaborate computer game….Is it our real truth?

……….Elaborate computer game….Is it our real truth?

As we become more fixated with games or war, of power, of seeking greater riches and strength, we lose track of who were are!….We no longer socialise face-to-face, we only communicate in a digital world, we have, or are certainly losing our abilities to communicate, to connect to others with empathy, to see the pain in someone else’s eyes and to understand their point of view, as we push forward relentlessly to reach our own goals…to win at all costs!

I see hundreds of innocent men, women and children mowed down as they watched the fireworks and celebrated a national days holiday, I see thousands of displaced men women and children forced from their own countries due to war, to the greed for control and power, I see innocent families held hostage in a Church and a Priest murdered….All for what!….

Where, my friends, does it end!….

We are all born into this world equal, we have no belief systems, no hatred and no goals to attain…life takes all on different journies, some of the beliefs we take on are good, and some are bad….it’s a flip of a coin which pathway we decide to take, what we choose to believe and how we choose to behave…!

Anyone who is not working towards the truth is missing the whole point of living!

Your beliefs don’t make you a better person, Your behaviour does!

My heart sends out love and compassion to all those in pain, to all those who are suffering and to all those who need some love in their life.

Namaste, with Love

Peace, One Simple Word!

Published 26/04/2016 by inspiringyourspirit

Peace, what does this commonly used word mean to you?

  • The normal, nonwarring condition of a nation, group of nations, or the world.
  • An agreement or treaty between warring or antagonistic nations, groups, etc., to end hostilities and abstain from further fighting or antagonism:
  • A state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations: Try to live in peace with your neighbors.
  • The normal freedom from civil commotion and violence of a community; public order and security: He was arrested for being drunk and disturbing the peace.
  • Cessation of or freedom from any strife or dissension.
  • Freedom of the mind from annoyance, distraction, anxiety, an obsession, etc.; tranquillity; serenity.
  • A state of tranquillity or serenity: May he rest in peace.

The term ‘peace’ originates most recently from the Anglo-French pes, and the Old French pais, meaning “peace, reconciliation, silence, agreement” (11th century). But, Pes itself comes from the Latin pax, meaning “peace, compact, agreement, treaty of peace, tranquility, absence of hostility, harmony.” The English word came into use in various personal greetings from c.1300 as a translation of the Hebrew word Shalom, which, according to Jewish theology, comes from a Hebrew verb meaning ‘to restore’. Although ‘peace’ is the usual translation, however, it is an incomplete one, because ‘shalom,’ which is also cognate with the Arabic Salaam, has multiple other meanings in addition to peace, including justice, good health, safety, well-being, prosperity, equity, security, good fortune, and friendliness. At a personal level, peaceful behaviors are kind, considerate, respectful, just, and tolerant of others’ beliefs and behaviors — tending to manifest goodwill. This latter understanding of peace can also pertain to an individual’s introspective sense or concept of her/himself, as in being “at peace” in one’s own mind, as found in European references from c.1200. The early English term is also used in the sense of “quiet”, reflecting calm, serene, and meditative approaches to family or group relationships that avoid quarreling and seek tranquility — an absence of disturbance or agitation.

In many languages, the word for peace is also used as a greeting or a farewell, for example the Hawaiian word Aloha, as well as the Arabic word salaam. In English the word peace is occasionally used as a farewell, especially for the dead, as in the phrase rest in peace.

“World peace must develop from inner peace. Peace is not just mere absence of violence. Peace is, I think, the manifestation of human compassion.”  Dalai Lama XIV

“For a day, just for one day, Talk about that which disturbs no one
And bring some peace into your Beautiful eyes.”  Sweet Poems of Hafiz

“Peace begins with a smile..” Mother Theresa

“You cannot find peace by avoiding life.” Virginia Wolf

“If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there’d be peace.” John Lennon

“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.” Albert Einstein

“If someone thinks that peace and love are just a cliche that must have been left behind in the 60s, that’s a problem. Peace and love are eternal.” John Lennon

“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.” Mahatma Gandhi

“Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.” Gautama Buddha

“You have peace,” the old woman said, “when you make it with yourself.” The Five People you Meet in Heaven

“The Simple Path ,Silence is Prayer, Prayer is Faith, Faith is Love, Love is Service,The Fruit of Service is Peace”  Mother Theresa

“Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.” Albert Schweitzer

“It is not enough to win a war; it is more important to organize the peace.” Aristotle

“As long as Man continues to be the ruthless destroyer of lower living beings, he will never know health or peace. For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.” Pythagoras

“You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.” Eckhart Tolle

“If you love me as you say you do,’ she whispered, ‘make it so that I am at peace.” Leo Tolstoy -Anna Karenina

“Peace is the only battle worth waging.” Albert Camus

“How come we play war and not peace?” “Too few role models.” Bill Watterson

“Instead of hating the people you think are war-makers, hate the appetites and disorder in your own soul, which are the causes of war. If you love peace, then hate injustice, hate tyranny, hate greed – but hate these things in yourself, not in another.” Thomas Merton

“The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that its center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.” Black Elk

“Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace.” Gautama Buddha

“Peace is the number one beautiful ornament you can wear, I really believe that. They say you should always wear a smile, but I don’t believe that you should “always” wear a smile, seriously, you’re going to look stupid! But peace, you should always carry peace within you, its the most beautifying thing you could ever have or do. Peace makes your heart beautiful and it makes you look beautiful, too. You want to have perfect physical posture when you stand, sit, and walk, and peace is the perfect posture of the soul, really. Try perfect posture outside as well as inside. Peace creates grace and grace gives peace.” C.JoyBell C

My Dear Friends,A few samples of what ‘Peace’ means to some individuals. For me, Peace is within, we strive to find it everywhere we go, we wish for it to be there as a reality for everyone, but ‘Peace’ is within everyone of us and unless we can find that inner peace then we cannot wish for there to be ‘Peace on Earth’ simply because to have World Peace, WE ALL NEED TO FIND IT, IN OURSELVES!

I wonder how often the word ‘Peace’ is spoken each day? Peace to you, Peace and Love, May your life be filled with Peace, May they Rest in Peace, Peace Be With You, What a Peaceful Day, etc

All I know is, I can find Peace within; and that allows me to try and promote this well kept secret to others, I know Peace can be found in meditation, I know Peace is available for everyone, all you have to do is ‘Want It and search inside, because your Soul is waiting to share with your physical body….

……Go on my friends and as John Lennon once said…

I, Me…What About Us?

My Dear Friends,

In the aftermath of the terrible terrorist attacks on Paris, our world is now, more so than even going into retaliation mode, hatred is back in full force, reprisal and revenge attacks will take place and once again innocent people will lose their lives. Now, I’m not for one minute saying that we should not take revenge for what has happened, and, on the other hand; I am not condoning such revenge either. To me, I feel that humanity has lost track of what’s important! We now see death and suffering as a norm, it’s in our news every day and until it directly affects us, our families, or friends or our community then we just turn a blind eye and get on with our lives only thinking about I, me!

Humanity,

humanity [hyoo-man-i-tee

noun, plural humanities.
1.

all human beings collectively; the human race; humankind.
2.

the quality or condition of being human; human nature.
3.

the quality of being humane; kindness; benevolence.
My Dear Freinds
This is what we have lost sight of.….‘All Human Beings, collectively; the human race; humankind’!
No one person, no one country, no one voice, no one religion, no one political power, no one control!!!!!!!!!!
Collectively, the human race!
And, until we get back on track and remember that we are ‘ONE HUMAN RACE’ and each person has a right to live, then we are ‘NEVER’ going to solve our problems and we will ‘NEVER’ see Peace on Earth!
Remember, we were all born into this world ‘INNOCENT’, we had no knowledge of race, religion or political party,’ we were one with all’, we were one with love, we were one with compassion, no hatred was in our hearts…We have become this way, we have learned how to hate, we have learned how to kill and most of the time it’s for the best interest of others!
So, please take a moment my Dear Friends to stop, to connect with your heart, to go within and connect with your soul and bring your new found love back to our world, stand up for peace, stand up for ‘HUMANITY’.
Blessings of Love, Peace and Compassion to you all, wherever you are on our planet 🙂

Is the mess in our world only God’s problem?

My Dear Friends,

I came across this image this morning and thought…Wow!…

Isn’t that the truth?…Is poverty, famine, greed, war, disease, injustice in our world only God’s problem?

Should we wait for him/her to deal with it for us, or, should we stand up and be counted?…..Actually get up off our butt’s and do something about the problems in our world!

We are after all, guardians of this planet, guardians for our future, for the future of our children. We all have an obligation to take ownership of what goes on in our world, we are all part of humanity, we are all part of the problem and the possible solution….We are stronger than we think, we can do something about these problems and issues, we can make change, we can stop greed, we can stop injustice, we can stop starvation, we can ALL make a difference and change the future….

We are but a grain of sand amongst billions of other grains of sand, but we are all ‘One’, we all come from the same seed of creation and we owe it to ourselves, to our brothers and sisters of humanity, we owe it to our ancestors, we owe it to our children, we owe it to our grandchildren, we owe it to OURSELVES!

Today is the day for you to sit up, look in the mirror and say “I am part of the problem and, I am part of the solution’ and ‘I can make a difference to this world, our world’..

Go on my friends, do a pledge to yourself, stand up and be counted and be a part of the change you want to see in this ‘Our’ world 🙂 Then go out and actually do something! Join a peace group, help out in a homeless shelter, sign a petition, stop using a product or buying food, drink or fuel from the companies that are polluting our planet, poisoning our children, draining our natural water systems, taking advantage of low wages and not paying their taxes. Stand up for yourself, for your family, for your future 🙂

The more we know, the more ignorant we become!

My Dear Friends,

Take just a brief moment to think about these words…

“The more we know, the more ignorant we become…and, it is only through enlightenment that we become conscious of our limitations”…..Tesla was right!

Education and the further knowledge that we gain through daily experience, ‘What does it do for us’? Does it awaken us to the realities of our world, does it make us  STOP and THINK about some of the critical issues facing humanity and our planet right now?……Hardly!

A new day brings our own selfish reasons to put our heads down and follow the masses, keep on the straight and narrow road that we have been TOLD to follow since birth, the education, the career, the family, the friends, the religion….we just keep on walking, keeping our heads down as if it will be ok in the end,…. RIGHT?…..WRONG!

If we want change in our world, we must stand up and do something, if we want to stop wars, WE need to do something, even sharing your thoughts with the world sets you apart from the majority, holding out your hand to someone in need sets you apart from the majority, joining a local group to help feed the homeless sets you apart from the majority, standing up and against GMO, Fracking or drilling in the Arctic sets you apart from the majority…Whatever you do HELPS…

Remembering 9.11, And All Those Who Lost Their Lives For No Reason Other than Hatred.

My Dear Friends,

9.11…. 14 years ago, A day still etched in may peoples minds, the day we saw hatred go to another level, the day in which so many innocent people lost their lives for no other reason other than hatred.

9.11, let us pray collectively as human beings, as brothers and sisters of humanity, from different countries, cultures, colours and religious beliefs, let’s today come together as one and pray that their lives were not lost in vain, and pray for world peace, for the coming together in ‘Oneness’ against terrorism, against hatred, against political or religious power or control.

Lets do as the monks did in Bangkok (picture below) After the bombing in Bangkok, Buddhists are changing the energy on the bombing site through meditation and prayer, proving that love is greater than hate. meditate and pray for peace.

Peace, what does it mean to you?

My Dear Friends,

Oh my, I’ve been thinking again!…..

I don’t know what’s got a hold of me since i’ve been away, maybe it was the quietness of my retreat, the contact with nature, time on my own to reflect and be thankful for all I have in my life, who knows but it’s great to be back and thinking again 🙂

I was up early again this morning, jet lag has been far worse than normal this time and has been playing havoc with my sleep patterns 😦 Still, it does also have its blessings as being awake so early gives me time to just sit, to be at one with myself and to reflect and think. This morning’s topic was ‘Peace’ and what does that word really mean to me? It conjours up to sides for me, one is the obvious ‘world peace’ where all countries come together in harmony and bring about an end to conflicts between different cultures, religions and countries then the other is being ‘at peace’, peace within myself/yourself.

I don’t think many people actually find peace with themselves, they are always chasing around looking for something more for their lives, more money, a better job, bigger house, bigger car, a holiday, more clothes, a fancy watch, diamond ring, more education, just more and then more, also seeking happiness where ever they go, meeting new friends, going out more, socialising, building a dream, looking for love, looking for acceptance, looking for praise, looking and looking outside, a constant journey seeking out happiness and peace….but the reality is you wont find it outside, you wont find it in things, you wont find it in your travels, you wont find it in a bigger house or a new job or a new relationship…….

Happiness and peace are within…..

And once you come to terms with that then you can let go, you can free yourself of the chains that hold you back, you can become one with yourself, you can start to love yourself and find your true self, your happiness and your inner peace.

Take time out today my friends, take time to just be you, take time to sit with yourself and just be the wonderful you 🙂

Ask Yourself Why?…Then Ask Your Government Why?

Why Oh Why is it so easy to manufacture guns of death and sell them all around the world , when it is so difficult for these same governments to buy books and give them to our children?

Why Oh Why is it that making tanks, missiles, drones, land mines and war planes so easy but building a school is so difficult?

Great questions from Malala Yousafzai, such a young girl who has gone through so much torture and pain in her life.

It’s about time ‘WE’ collectively stood up and asked these questions of our so called politicians and governments, those very politicians and governments that we have voted for and elected into these positions of power, and push them for answers, real answers, not spin or delayed responses or sidetracked answers regarding jobs and the economy……or under the disguise of National Security…..

We need change in our world, we need collective change, change that can and will bring about peace in our lifetime, change that makes it safe for our children and the same change for children of mothers and fathers just like us in other countries all around the world ! …Don’t forget, we maybe from different countries, we may have different languages, cultures, colour of skin and religions but, …WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS, we all want the same.

So for once, lets get together and push for PEACE and Education for ALL.

I’m Far Too Ugly for Selfies, But Should We Adopt a Selfie Approach to Spiritual and Humanitarian Blogging?

Published 26/11/2014 by inspiringyourspirit

IMG_5572

Hi Everyone,

I have noticed my lack of enthusiasm and procrastination regarding writing posts of late, I guess it is down to the fact that my number of followers does not seem to grow so much when I see some blogs or twitter accounts gaining thousands, tens of thousands or hundreds of thousand of followers. The numbers of likes and retweets are huge and they gain lots of opportunity to promote themselves, their thoughts and their businesses easily but when I look at these sites and accounts I am so surprised as to the content, many seem to have nothing at all to offer, they lack in content, don’t offer any help or support to their followers and they are often very rude and in some cases obscene in their content. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not in this for fame or glory and my blog is about giving back, trying to help people who are maybe in need for some words and pictures that will help them in their time of need, offer some inspiration and a helping hand when they feel down or anxious.

So, what is it we need to do to make our sites more ‘Sexy’, to help us get our messages of good across to a wider audience, to actually start to do more good around the world, to bring about more attention to the state of our environment, to help fight disease, help the poor, bring an end to victimisation, child abuse, honor killings, bullying at school, the horrors of GMO, the poisoning of our oceans, global warming and not to forget help bring more awareness towards the real need to have peace on earth?

Maybe I need to go on a serious diet, to get down at the gym 7 days a week and build up my abs, some plastic surgery here and there is, a hair weave perhaps or is it that I really need to think about and position my messages in a very different way?

When I look at our world I get a tear in my eye, when i see the news and hear of abuse of our children, watch wars raging for the sake of greed or religion, see families loosing their homes because of the lack of jobs I wonder where is our world heading, what more can I do to help!…Many would say I think too much, I cannot heal everyone and everything…but for me, it’s hard, it’s really hard to switch off my compassion radar, I’m too deep in to do that now, I watch tv with my wife and I tear up when I see pollution, my heart takes a stabbing when i see brothers and sisters of humanity fighting and when I see the continuance of corporate greed and the manipulation of humanity by the media….I must do something, I must act, I must do my bit to help save our world from imploding from our own greed and lust for more, more money, more land, more things, more, more, more.

So, I’m open to offers, open to suggestion, what do I/We need to do to help promote compassion, love, peace and happiness to humanity, how do we help make a difference?

BTW, If you answers are…Plastic Surgery, Extensive Diet, Gym 7 days a week, a New Fancy Set Of Teeth etc, please consider sending me a large value cheque or bank transfer because otherwise, it, ain’t gonna happen 🙂

Love to you all, may you be blessed with love, happiness and peace

Corrupt governments, greedy politicians, corporate greed at the expense and exploitation of their workers, obscene amounts of waste, our natural resources raped and pillaged to fill the pockets of the elite, war raging around our world in the so called name of freedom, our oceans, rivers and fields laid to waste….When will we ever learn?

War…For What?

Published 14/10/2014 by inspiringyourspirit

lest_6ca425_2865194

War for what?
What purpose does it serve?

War spurns hatred between neighbors, brothers and friends
War takes away our sons and our daughters
Never to be returned to see another day

War for what?
What purpose does it serve?

War stimulates greed in the few and stupidity in the many
The need to control, to steal, to conquer to hate
Boarders crossed, cities crushed and rape and pillage abound

War for what?
What purpose does it serve?

War crushes all in its path, no sacred towers or history remains
War blinds the innocent and leaves children alone, no family no future, who cares?
Graves are fed by its lust for death and tombstones lie abandoned and alone

War for what?
Why do we need you?

War has no place in our world it’s archaic in its nature, outdated and pointless
We follow the drums of power, blinded and brainwashed by their messages of hatred and fear
To follow like sheep, to fight their so-called fight, for freedom, for country, for what?
To win or to loose, for what?
No end is in sight, war after war fuels another and on we go like lemmings to the cliff
As our friends fall and our loved ones are lost, for what?
For the power and the greed of the few who take what they want and leave us in tears
Alone, to grieve, to pick up the pieces, to wait for their call to do their dirty work again
War…. It must End…Today!

flanders fields

As I sit here writing I take a moment in quiet contemplation to pray for all the valiant men and women who gave their lives in wars around the world since the dawn of time and in this year the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I in 1914 I pray for the souls of the lost,

War, It’s Not Just A Game On A Computer Consul or Mobile Phone!

Published 05/08/2014 by inspiringyourspirit

In a world where war is just a video game to some, it’s perhaps worth taking time to remember the true cost of war.
在当今世界,战争对于一些人来说只不过是视频游戏,而对于战争的真正代价可能会需要时间铭记在心。

poppies-8

This weekend saw the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, which over 4 years, grew to claim the lives of over 9’000’000 (Yes thats 9 Million) service personnel from countries around the world. During WWI, across Europe, the flower of the red poppy became a symbol for remembering all those lost in War. As part of the commemorations this weekend in London, British artist Paul Cummings placed 888’246 ceramic flowers around the Tower of London – one flower for each soul lost from countries around what was then the British Empire.

Here are some images of the exhibition.

The poppy is a way of not forgetting the sacrifice of those who didn’t return home to their loved ones because of War and whilst we should never forget the price they paid, we should also look forward and remember that with a little more understanding, kindness and love for those of us who walk the Earth with us today, we could potentially have less need for more poppies in the future.

It’s now 2014, 100 years on since the start of what they called “The Great War’, and I can still see no real progress, there have been over 260 major wars fought around the world since 1918 the end of World War 1 and they still rage on, mainly due to Religion or Greed by governments and corporations to control natural resources.

Now is the time to really step back and look at these pictures, every one of those red poppies represents a soldier killed in that 1 war alone, I wonder how many have fallen since? What would that picture look like and how far would the poppies go? A frightening thought my friends!………….Here is the reality of that frightening thought……….

Change Our Thoughts and Change Our World

Change Our Thoughts and Change Our World

One sun warms our planet from East to West each and everyday, come rain or come shine mother earth provides for us, One Mother Earth with no preference to who we are, what country we are from or what race, color, religion or creed we are from.

The beauty and bounty that Mother Earth has to offer us is endless as long as we protect her, protect her from harm, harmful pollutants, de-forestation, fracking, oil spills and poisoning of our land and waterways.

Mother earth can and will provide us with all the crops we need and fish from our oceans and rivers as long as we protect her, protect her from the endless greed and profits of man.

What we need to do is ‘Respect, Accept and Coexist’; this could be the starting point of world peace and the coming together of mankind for the good of all.

As the Buddha said:-_

One who, while himself seeking happiness, oppresses with violence other beings who also desire happiness, will not attain happiness hereafter.

Speak not harshly to anyone, for those thus spoken to might retort. Indeed, angry speech hurts, and retaliation may overtake you.

Whatever harm an enemy may do to an enemy, or a hater to a hater, an ill-directed mind inflicts on oneself greater harm.

Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world. By non-hatred alone is hatred appeased. This is law eternal.

From the Bible:-

Proverbs:6:16-19 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

John 1:19 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.

Islamic Philosophy;-

The Arabic word salaam (سلام) (“secured, pacified, submitted”) has the same root as the word Islam .One Islamic interpretation is that individual personal peace is attained by utterly submitting to Allah. The greeting “As -Salaam alaykum” favored by Muslim, has the literal meaning “Peace be upon you”.

One of the terms meaning peace and peacemaking in Arabic, sulh, which is used in the Quran, is also the root of the word islah denoting development and improvement. This term is used to refer to peacemaking. Peacemakers are agents of good and those who breach it are elements of corruption and sin. It is therefore observed that peace and peacemaking are seen in Islamic tradition as part and parcel of human development. In Islam peace and making peace are seen as Godly acts worthy of praise and reward. In Islam peace is advocated as a divine quality to be pursued in order to achieve the state of felicity that we were in paradise, man’s former dwelling.

The Hindu Concept on Peace;-

The rulers think that punishing the peace-breakers will bring peace.

The oppressed think that eliminating the oppressors will ensure peace.

The nations think that destroying or subduing the enemy nations will create peace.

But the wise say that ever-enduring peace can never be obtained through external means.

One who has found inner peace has indeed found peace that abides forever.

Through spiritual discipline alone this inner peace can be acquired.

One who has found peace within transmits peace to others by one’s own life’s example, though one be not aware of it.

Therefore, say the wise, may all try to create peace within, before trying to create any temporary or superficial peace in the world through external means.

All religions want peace so in my simple mind if we start acting peacefully in the names of our religions rather than just preaching about it then we could move forward to wards world peace.

May all that have life be delivered from suffering and may we come together as one for the benefit of mankind during my lifetime.

Freedom, such a small word, but what does it mean to you?

Published 20/06/2014 by inspiringyourspirit

orchid

What constitutes freedom in one country may be far different to that in another.

Am I free?……Am I Really Free?

In many countries, freedom of speech is not even thought of because you can most often do and say what you like, its your right to get up on your pedestal and speak your mind, you can talk freely about politics, government, the monarchy in some countries, human rights…all without a worry regarding repercussion.

But in some countries, freedom means so much more, the simple freedom to be able to go outside without the fear of being killed by militia or other warring factions, the freedom to be able to draw water and drink it freely without the thought of catching a disease or suffering from severe dysentery. The freedom to speak out against the rules of the land, to stand up for your basic human rights, the freedom to pray to your god without the fear of persecution, the freedom to have a choice to eat or not eat today, the freedom to choose your own partner and not be forced into a marriage of convenience or by family arrangement, the freedom to be gay and marry if you want to, the freedom to travel across borders and be with your loved ones once again, the freedom to feel comfortable in your own color of skin, the freedom to receive education even if you are a girl, the freedom to go outside without the fear of being raped because you are a girl, freedom to access the internet free of restrictions, the freedom to earn the same as your male colleagues, the freedom to dress as you like, the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion and belief.

So what does freedom really mean to you and can you help others around the world that are far less fortunate than you?
I live and work in a country where freedom of speech is controlled, where access to the wonderful rich world of the internet is restricted and controlled, where human rights are not so important, where freedom of religion is controlled, where the rich get richer at the expense of the poor, where food is tainted by chemicals and the chance of repercussions for speaking out are high…but am I free? Yes I’m free, at least I have a choice, I can find a way, I will speak out in the hope that one day we will come together as one world, one world working together as free spirits for the good of mankind.

Beauty Is Everywhere, We Just Need To Open Our Eyes

Published 06/05/2014 by inspiringyourspirit

db95eefd-9e12-4646-94e8-c22793d20359

Beauty is everywhere; we just need to open our eyes!

Our newspapers, TV, radio, the internet and social media messages continually bombard us with the doom and gloom of our world, wars, financial crashes, environmental catastrophes, rioting, political unrest whilst the rich and famous earn more and gain the majority of our time via their exposure through the biased and rumor hungry and often one sided media outlets. These messages bring us down, they make us feel sad, depressed, frightened for our lives for our children’s futures or we just switch off, we switch our selves off from the realities that are going on all around us; each and every day!

However my friends, there is a beautiful world outside, we just need to open our eyes and let it in!

I myself sometimes get caught up with all the troubles going on in our world, the extremes of poverty in many countries, the pollution, the environmental catastrophes taking place at the hand of mankind, the wars raging around the world for no reason other than greed, politics or genocidal control….. I cannot block them out so I try my best to do all I can to help stop it!

But I’m one man, I cannot do it all alone, so I’ve resigned myself to do my best; little by little, each day something good that will benefit humanity, and or mother earth.

Loveistruth

Love is all-important, love for yourself is a great place to start, then when you have achieved love of yourself you will be able to give love to others, love is infectious and as John Lennon said “Love is All You Need”

As I look around me now I see and hear beauty, the blue sky, the sun shining; its rays gently warming my skin, the pigeons flying gracefully around the buildings; airing their wings, the river running by on its way towards the ocean, the branches and leaves on the willow trees swaying in the gentle breeze, the rich green of the trees in the gardens below my window and the subtle colours, white, pink, yellow and red of the flowers in the garden, my two puppy’s sleeping at my feet; their trust and love for me complete and unconditional, the sound of children playing, the old ladies chattering in the gardens as the children play. Life is wonderful if we learn to open our eyes and let it in!

Mindfulness, “paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” Dr. Kabat-Zinn

Have a quick look outside and see the beauty all around ☺

If you as an adult could go back in time right now, back to when you were a child of between the ages of 5 to 12 years old, and have the ability to talk to your modern day self and to the world, what would say?

Please watch this short video and take a look at the images below before you put pen to paper. (You can click on any image to see the full picture and read all the words)
